On the sidelines of the Algeria Future Energy Summit, the SONATRACH ENI TOTAL consortium signed two agreements concerning offshore exploration at CIC Algiers.
The two agreements concern the exploration and evaluation of the oil potential of the Algerian Offshore Basin in its eastern and western parts.
The Algerian eastern offshore basin will be explored by ENI, whose area of interest is about 14965 km2 with sandstone and carbonate reservoirs.
The western offshore basin will be explored by TOTAL, whose area of activity of interest is of the order of 9335,99Km², with objectives of sandstone and carbonate reservoirs.
Work on the two perimeters will focus on 3D seismic data acquisition, seismic processing and their interpretations. As well as the drilling of an exploration well in each of the two zones.
